Tribu ECE: An Invitation

Hi Guys,

It's wonderful to know that our group is growing in number. We hope to find more of our tribe members. Hopefully, the communication between all of us will help realize this goal.

Anyways, I like the fact that there's a free exchange of communication going on with all of you guys. However, I don't really get to check my e-mail as much and sometimes getting a lot of spam is too much of a hassle. In short, at times I don't have the enthusiasm to even mind reading what you guys are talking about, but I'm sure it's interesting.

Busa aron di ta malangay, asa'y maayo kon adto mo magpabuhagay sa inyong mga pulong sa atong dili opisyal nga web-sayt http://tribu-ece.blogspot.com/

Ako maoy opisyal nga author ani nga blog-sayt, mao na nga kon interesado mo tanan, ako mong imbitahon nga moapil isip mga authors usab sa maong blog. Kon interesado mo, padalhan mo nako ug imbetasyon.

In other words, you can publish almost anything. Just avoid obscenity and the use of profanity. You are also restricted from posting copyrighted pictures, materials, articles and anything that may infringe on other people's right.

Other than that, it's our free bulletin board for everyone to see, to read and to keep a record of. That's the beauty of the blog. It's an online journal--a web log, that keeps track of our group happenings by date.

Guys, are you in?

For those who want to be an author and to have the privilege to publish anything, anytime on our unofficial site, send me a 'YES' reply.

I'll show you how this works. I'll publish this letter on our site. Check it out.

We Owe It To You

About ten years ago we all parted ways. None of us left traces of our whereabouts. Some of us have gone to the other side to seek greener pastures; found out that the grass isn't really greener there, then came back. After a decade of change, who would have thought that we'll ever reconnect and be reunited again?

Mobile communications definitely played a role for making it possible for us to hear from one another again. But I would like to give credit to the ever enthusiastic ArtB for being the iniator of the reunion per se. You really are a PRO! (press relations officer ba)

It was a good start, having managed to group together more than a dozen individuals, who now have their own families, responsibilities, priorities. If it's up to me, honestly, I could care less about reuniting with my old classmates (that's brutally honest!) I have my own life now to live and being the anti-social person that I am, I'm really happier when I'm alone than when I'm with other people.

After our reunion last year though, I could not discount the fact that we are a good bunch of wacky individuals. When we're together, it's just fun all along. Anything can happen, and still it's a worthwhile experience. It's like we're so used to being the really crazy engineering bunch that we used to be. Remember how we use to mock the students from the other departments?

Hmmm... I really don't wanna spill the beans here! I could get into trouble.

I just want to thank you for your efforts and hopefully with this group being reunited again we can do something to help our community. Maybe we can do some charitable works of mercy (ngeee...I sound like a member of the PPC) or sponsor an outreach project each year before we do our annual gathering. That way, this union will not go to waste. Di ba?

And please, let us take the effort to increase our number. I'm sure guys, that with your expertise in the field of electronics and communications you can contact more of our classmates who are now "incommunicado".

FYI: Much is happening now with the group that we have set up online. In fact I have posted pictures from the first gathering. Unfortunately, those who haven't joined the group yet, have no access to the group's database. Only members are allowed to upload and download photos from the group's e-albums. I'll be posting more pictures, so please, if you haven't joined yet, join now. You can find the link on this page.

Thirteen Years Later ...

It was in March of 1993 when these aspiring Electronics and Communications Engineering students obtained their engineering degree and bid farewell to their Alma Mater to start a new chapter in their lives. The five years of college was a long journey yet it was a worthwhile experience having been shared with motivated, talented, highly-intellectual, and good-hearted individuals. And then, here we are, thirteen years later. Not much has changed. We still share the same spirit, though we already have been through different journeys. I'm sure that to all of us who were there, it will be a memory to cherish, a memory that carries the hope of another gathering in the near future. I can still hear the echoing laughter amid the stillness of the night. We didn't give a damn, that the neighborhood was in deep slumber. Bad Santa was there anyway, and that didn't help at all. The trick of the numbers indeed overwhelmed these number-eating geniuses. Who got the lucky number 13? Who bagged the priciest gift? Wait, who took the electric fan, when Theresa's mother wasn't watching? Were there some good stories shared? So for those who didn't come, all I can say is that we had fun, and we wish that next time when we hold another gathering, you'll take time to join. It will be good to remember the sweet old days. Peace!
